In addition to launching the Galaxy S6 and Galaxy S6 Edge, Samsung dropped a new version of Virtual Reality for the flagship of its newly launched phones. The company will soon diagnose the third generation Gear VR headset for the consumers built in partnership with Facebook's Oculus VR. According to the Samsung CEO JK Shin, Samsung is preparing to launch the third generation of its Gear VR headset soon, reports CNET. There are no details of the device right now. However, it is being said that the device would be compatible with the latest handsets, Samsung Galaxy S6 Edge and the Samsung Galaxy Note 5 only, and the cost is more as well.
Shin did not revealed exactly when the next Samsung Gear VR headset would be launched and said, “it is a surprise”. He said that the consumer variant of the Gear VR won't be tremendously different from the currently available 'Innovator Editions' that was released for Galaxy S6 and S6 Edge.
The other innovations in the mobile VR headset is the speed at which the new smartphones are advancing in terms of the visual fidelity of new screens, processing power of the device and the hours of the battery life. These are the key factors that will impact the types of VR experiences being developed today.
